Goshen Community Schools

Goshen, IN

Goshen School DistrictThe new Goshen Community Schools Aquatic Center, located at Goshen Middle School was funded by taxpayers through a referendum allowing the pool to be accessible to the community. During a special election in November 2013, more than 60 percent of Goshen voters approved to spend $17 million in construction projects for the district. Approximately $10 million was spent on the new aquatic center and the rest was spent on other updates and renovations at Goshen Middle School and Goshen High School.

Consolidating pool facilities for the middle and high schools drew a mixed response early in the process, but school officials said the decision made financial sense. The cost of maintaining two pools had grown to more than $200,000 annually and finding parts and equipment for the old pools was proving more difficult.

The new competitive swimming facility serves the Goshen Redhawks swimming and diving teams, recreational programs, community users, and a large contingent of visiting athletes from around the community.
