Named as one of the 20 best liberal arts colleges in the country, Grinnell College is a highly selective liberal arts college with an enrollment of 1,500 students from every state and about 50 countries around the world.
The college has completed major renovations to the campus including the renovation and expansion of the Noyce Science Center, and the addition of a new $21 million Athletics and Fitness Center. The natatorium houses an indoor 50-meter pool and spa, which will also be accessible to the Grinnell community and the local high school swim team. The pool will be connected via an underground link to the current fitness center on 10th Avenue. Classrooms, a climbing wall, a dance studio, and locker rooms will also be housed in the underground link.
In addition, a field house with a competition track and tennis facility is located north of the Athletics and Fitness Center, and will include racquetball courts, training spaces, additional classrooms, locker rooms, and athletic department offices.

Moreover, the Athletics and Fitness Center received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
