Hilton Columbus Downtown offers a contemporary presence in the eclectic urban hub of Columbus, Ohio. The hotel, reflecting the spirit and energy of the area, is connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center and Nationwide Arena. The project is a collaboration among the Franklin County Commissioners, Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority, City of Columbus, and Nationwide Realty Investors, Inc. The design team included the architectural firms of HOK and Columbus-based Moody Nolan, interior design by Simeone Deary Design Group, and Counsilman-Hunsaker as the aquatics designer.
The $140 million, full-service convention center hotel features 532 rooms, 48 suites, and 22,800 sq. ft. of meeting space, including a 12,000 sq. ft. ballroom. It offers a 600 sq. ft. indoor swimming pool and a 50 sq. ft. spa for guest relaxation. The pool area, furnished with covered lounges, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel has a combination brick and glass façade and includes a 160-seat, full-service restaurant, a 100-seat lounge, a specialty coffee outlet, an executive lounge, and a lobby featuring a large atrium with skylights to give an indoor-outdoor feel.
In continuing the city of Columbus’ commitment to sustainability, the Hilton Columbus Downtown is pursuing LEED Certification under the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
