Loveland High SchoolLoveland, CO
The Thompson School District commissioned Counsilman-Hunsaker, in association with DLR Group, for the replacement of the competition swimming pool at Loveland High School. The existing pool had been empty for six years as the aluminum pool had major structural issues that concerned public officials about swimmer’s safety. The pool also did not meet current Colorado public swimming pool health code requirements. The existing PVC liner was showing signs of fading and bubbling throughout; therefore, the existing pool was completely demolished and removed.
The team worked through a creative process to develop a unique six lane 25-yard pool configuration that met the school’s budget and swimming requirements for training, instruction, and competition. The new pool now meets all applicable codes and safety requirements.
Lap Pool Replacement Included:
- New reinforced concrete swimming pool shell
- Six 25 yard lap lanes
- 1-meter springboard diving
- Quartz aggregate plaster finish with tile trim
- New piping, pumps, filtration, and chemical treatment systems
