The Southampton Town Aquatics and Recreation, Inc. (STAR) retained Counsilman-Hunsaker to complete an analysis of the existing feasibility study performed for the proposed Red Creek Aquatic Center. The purpose of this aquatic study was to review the existing study and proposed conceptual plan, expense and revenue budgets, and provide commentary, knowledge and insight on aquatic operations to help STAR have the knowledge and data it needs to make a well-informed decision about the future of aquatics in the Southampton community.
The final report produced the information necessary for STAR to make knowledgeable decisions for the future aquatics program. The study consisted of completing an analysis of the existing feasibility study, a review of the existing conceptual plan, and offered comments on the size of the aquatic center program as it relates to the goals of the aquatic center. Counsilman-Hunsaker also reviewed construction cost estimates, evaluated the overall viability of the feasibility study results for an aquatic center and determined the viability of the 50-meter swimming pool. Other pool size options were evaluated, such as an eight lane, 25-yard, a 25-yard by 25-meter, and a stretch 25-yard pool.
