Counsilman-Hunsaker

Becomes a Founding Sponsor

Counsilman-Hunsaker is proud to announce its Founding Sponsorship of the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) which has developed the only all-inclusive national model pool code, the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC).  Based on scientific data and best practices gathered by public health and aquatic industry professionals, the MAHC will guide future aquatic facility design, construction and operational management.

"Like the CMAHC, our mission is to create sustainable facilities that promote "Aquatics for Life."  We believe the development of the MAHC will allow significant advancements in the industry and will be critical component in creating truly transformative aquatic experiences in the future," said Scott Hester, President of Counsilman-Hunsaker.

CMAHC is a non-profit  organization that educates local and state authorities, aquatic facility owners, operators, designers, manufacturers, builders and retailers about the MAHC and promotes its updating and voluntary adoption across the U.S.

Closed for the Season

What Next?

The last child is out of the pool and the doors have closed for the summer season but that doesn't mean your work is done.  Now is the time to take advantage of the off-season to review your facility to ensure continuous improvement in areas such as operational efficiency, staff performance, effective marketing campaigns, increased profit margins and enhanced guest service for the next pool season.

Begin by identifying the strengths of the facility.  Keep doing the things you are doing well but do not lose sight of those items at the expense of other matters on the agenda.

Second, address your weaknesses.  Get feedback internally from staff as well as externally from guest surveys or online reviews.  Prioritize this information to help you plan your steps for improvement.

Lastly, brainstorm with your team about new ideas to increase attendance, new processes to improve efficiency, or new guest experiences that would enhance the facility's offerings.  Spend the day as a guest and see what areas come to mind.  There is always room for improvement.

Completing an annual review of your overall operations is essential in maintaining a leading edge with your facility and offering your guests the best possible experience.
