Counsilman-Hunsaker showcases a new kind of design for commercial aquatic centers......edible gingerbread and candy aquatic
centers!
Our resident Bakery Chef, Linda Duerst, designed this one-of-a-kind wonderland, Candyland Waterpark. Linda has a passion
for designing custom-made cakes and has carried over into designing gingerbread houses. As a Christmas tradition, Linda has made custom-made gingerbread houses with her family every holiday season.
This year, she pushed her talents to the limits to create this aquatic-themed center featuring a leisure pool with a lily
pad walk, a lap pool complete with lane ropes, a sprayground, a lazy river, and a waterside. No aquatic center would be complete without a snack bar. Made out of gingerbread, the snack bar includes handmade items that look just like the real thing. Tiling,
lounge area, umbrellas, and palm trees are all made of candies and other edibles. Edible fondant was used to create hot dogs, hamburgers, pretzels, cakes and donuts. The landscaping grew from grape stems dipped in green chocolate and rolled in Rice Krispies
cereal and topped off with touches of icing roses.
